Beer Review: Brett it all on Black (Collaboration)

Beer Name: Brett it all on Black

Brewery: Innocente & Shacklands

Style: Brettanomyces Porter (Strong Porter)

ABV: 6.0%

shack

Aroma: Smoke with  Sour Bread

Appearance: Black

Flavour: There’s a lot going on in this beer. First off is the roasty taste of the actual porter with a slight hint of Chocolate piercing through. Then the Brett kicks in to lay down the funk like Rick James. The sourness gives the finish an almost Cherry tasting flavour but in all the confusion you might end up with something different. .

Mouthfeel: Sharp

Finish: Cherry tasting finish with a touch of Sourness

Notes: An interesting style I don’t think I’ve encountered before. I drank one straight from the fridge and one at almost room temperature, it was like drinking two different beers. Would like to see a stronger Shacklands presence a bit more around KW.

Best for: Slapping that funky bass.

Rating: 7.5/10
