Beer Review: Three Fields Lager

Beer Name: Three Fields Lager

Brewery: Elora

Style: Lager

ABV: 5.0%

Aroma: A little fruity, fresh on the nose.

Appearance: Golden

Flavour: Rye was the foremost taste for me I find Rye gives me a dull sense on my tongue. Wheat came though on the second taste with the barley holding it all together. Taking a bigger and longer sip made the the taste of this beer a lot fresher and fruitier. There was a slight bitterness from the hops but not overpowering in any way. Refreshing and different.

Mouthfeel: Light

Finish: Sharp

Notes: The Three fields refers to the three different types of grain used in this beer. namely Rye, Wheat and Barely. This combination to me gave a great base beer and something that could be played with in the future with the addition of speciality grains. Overall I was impressed with the first offering from Elora and excited to see what direction they take with their styles once the brewery opens.

Best for: A Summers Day

Rating: A solid 7.0/10
